The Philatelic Friend organises and designs your albums. You can create individual pages with titles, descriptions, place holders and frames in different sizes and positions. If necessary. the software can be easily extended with macros - a speciality of our album software!

The Philatelic Friend is a useful demonstration of values in an Calc spreadsheet driving a Draw graphic. Common functions and comments can be viewed and changed. Accelerate your learning by doing.

The Philatelic Friend uses OpenOffice.org Macros that get their input from values entered into predefined columns in an OpenOffice.org Calc document to produce an OpenOffice.org Draw page. The blocks appearing on the Draw page are drawn according to the dimensions and relative positions specified in the Calc document. Blocks are drawn on the page with millimeter precision. The Draw page may also contain any text that is to be placed inside or underneath each block and preserves the formatting of the text from the Spreadsheet document. The Macros, written in BASIC, also create a new toolbar with a button start the drawing process and a top-level menu with a sub-menu to launch the drawing process.

Requires OpenOffice.org version 2.3 - please download  and install it first.
